Destined To Be Champions (art 4)

The key play as the Gators took destiny in their own hands with a 52-20 victory over Florida State in the Nokia Sugar Bowl On January 2, 1997. The painting preserves this special moment by highlighting Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel, as he sets up to complete a seven yard touchdown pass to Ike Hilliard on third-and-goal in the 3rd quarter to make the score 31-20. The painting features Head Coach Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel and Ike Hilliard along with three of the senior defensive players. The artist, Douglas HessÕs use of symbolism in the composition combined with the detail, intensity and emotions captured in the painting allow each fan to savor those thrilling memories for years to come.

This is an Artist Proof, strictly limited to 200 prints, this is number 79. This print includes a gold seal and Certificate of Authenticity which is placed in the matting. Copyright 1997. The print size is 17 1/2” x 24”. The frame size is approximately 30” x 34”. The Artist Proof Edition consists of 200 prints numbered separately from the other editions, each personally signed by Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel and Douglas Hess.
